How to Convert JPG Images Into a PDF

Photographing a document with a phone is the fastest scanner most people own. The awkward part comes afterwards: eight separate images, in whatever order the gallery decided, several of them rotated, and a combined size that email will not accept.

Prepare the photos first

Two minutes here removes most of the friction later. Crop away the desk and the shadow at the edge of the page. Straighten anything obviously skewed. Then compress: a phone photo of a printed page rarely needs to be more than about 2000 pixels wide to stay perfectly readable, and that single change often cuts the eventual PDF by three quarters.

Building the PDF

1. Open the JPG to PDF tool and add your images.
2. Drag them into reading order — this is the order they will appear as pages.
3. Choose a page size. 'Match each image' keeps the exact photo proportions; A4 or Letter is better if the file will be printed.
4. Run the conversion and download the PDF.

Page size, explained

Matching each image means every page is exactly as tall and wide as its photo. That looks natural on screen but produces inconsistent pages when the photos were taken at different distances. Choosing A4 or Letter places each image, scaled to fit, on a uniform page — the better choice for anything being printed, signed or filed.

A PDF made from photos contains no text layer. It cannot be searched or copied from, and Pdf2Go does not currently offer OCR.

Checking the result

Open the PDF and read one page fully at 100%. If the text has visible blocky artefacts around the letters, your compression was too aggressive — rebuild from the originals at a higher quality. If a page is sideways, rotate it in the PDF rather than redoing the whole conversion.

Conclusion

Crop, compress, order, then convert. Doing those in sequence gives you a PDF that opens quickly, prints predictably and does not need a follow-up apology about the file size.
