Yes. Every tool marked as available on this site can be used without payment and without creating an account. Tools that are still in development are labelled 'Coming soon' rather than shown as working.

Because they do not work reliably yet. Password protection needs genuine encryption, and PDF to Word or Excel needs layout reconstruction that is trustworthy rather than approximate. Rather than shipping something that appears to work, we label those tools honestly and explain what to use instead.

Use the contact form and choose the matching reason. Technical reports are most useful when they include the browser and device you were using and what the tool did instead of what you expected. Please do not attach the document itself.

The tools available today run entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. The file you select is read into your device's memory, processed there, and the result is handed back to you as a download. The document bytes are not transmitted to Pdf2Go and there is nothing for us to store. If a future tool ever requires server-side processing, it will be clearly labelled on that tool's page.

There is nothing to delete on our side, because nothing is uploaded. Closing or refreshing the browser tab discards the file from memory. Anything you downloaded is saved wherever your browser puts downloads, and that copy is under your control.

Browser-based processing avoids sending your file anywhere, which is a meaningful advantage over services that upload. That said, we cannot make guarantees about the security of your own device, your browser extensions or your network. For material subject to legal or contractual confidentiality requirements, follow the handling rules that apply to it and consult whoever is responsible for them.

PDF for the document tools, and JPG and PNG for the image tools. Each tool page lists exactly what it accepts. Files are checked against their actual content signature, not just the file extension.

The interface accepts files up to 100 MB. The practical ceiling is lower and depends on your device, because all the work happens in your browser tab. Large scanned documents on a phone may run out of memory well before that limit.

The compress tool re-renders each page as an image at a resolution and quality you choose, then assembles those images into a new PDF. That is very effective on scans, because scanned pages are already images. It is lossy: the text becomes part of the picture and is no longer selectable. Files that are already efficient text may not get smaller at all, and the tool tells you when that happens.

Most operations on a typical document finish in a few seconds. Compression and image conversion are the slowest, because every page is drawn individually — a hundred-page scan can take a minute or more on a laptop and longer on a phone. A progress indicator shows where the job has got to.

Yes. The interface is built for small screens and the file picker uses your device's normal document selection. Very large files may exhaust available memory on mobile devices, so it is worth splitting or compressing on a desktop first if you hit a limit.

The document is almost certainly a scan — a picture of text rather than text itself. Making it searchable requires OCR, which Pdf2Go does not currently offer. You can confirm this by running the file through the text extractor: no text returned means no text layer.
